As artificial intelligence ("AI") applications become more advanced and ubiquitous in everyday life, many of these AI tools can play important roles in Extension’s efforts to connect with our stakeholders and remain the leading source of research-based solutions for North Carolinians.

In particular, generative AI tools ("GenAI"), which generate a broad range of content -- text, images, videos, audio, plans, coding, etc. -- have the potential to simplify and enhance many of our everyday tasks and outputs.

AI Training Available

We've developed training resources to help you get started with using GenAI tools in a responsible, strategic and productive manner. In the materials, you'll find:

• Guidance to get started with ChatGPT
• Best practices regarding risks and responsible use

Given Extension's current strategic priorities, growing employee demand and the inherent value of many AI tools across our vast programming, now’s the time to lay the groundwork for the strategic, successful adoption of AI in Extension.
